Any other Ferguson's out there who can help me learn more about my family history (*clan, tartan, etc...)? I JUST discovered that I am of Ferguson blood (my father was adopted as a small child and his name was changed to Foster...no blood tie, however). Apparently, I have living Ferguson family in Minnesota. I hope to share some family history with my future children and as my father was not raised by his biological father (who has since passed on), I am short on resources. Thank you for your compassion.

Excellent event! As a member of Clan MacMillan I was happy to see so many others of Scottish descent and to see beautiful examples of my own family tartan as well as other Highland and Lowland tartans. The sound of pipes ringing will forever make the hair on the back of my neck stand up and bring a flush to my skin. Have you ever considered hosting a foot race at the Games? I would happily participate as I am much too thin to throw the hammer or toss the caber, but would like to take part in the gaming. In any event, may you all enjoy the bluest skies and the purest malts for your fine work!

We just attended your games over the weekend and I have to say that the dancing was the best run that I have been to. You moved many dancers through their dances in record time which I think is fantastic! I have two dances one primary and one intermediate and I am a former dancer myself so I know how long some of the highland games dancing events can be...thank you so much!

While your website is well done technically, the way the content is presented is a bit confusing. I think that it's organized okay, but some of the assumptions made from thought to thought are a bit fuzzy. Greater development of the info presented on the intermediary menu pages could help a lot, for example. I get frustrated when I have to click all over the site to get the basic info. I fully expected to see the schedule on the events tab, and some links are listed multiple times, such as the "other games" link. I could go on all day, but I think you get the picture. Hope this critique isn't too cranky. It's only meant to help the site look and operate better.

However I have to say that I absolutely *love* the screen fades, and the music selection is a nice touch without being annoying!

Most of the infomercial products come from the U.S. but then again we export our talents as well. My brother has appeared in infomercials in the U.S. advertising various products. Very nice site. My husband is from Scotland (been in States since July 2000) and we look forward to attending this year.

This is my second year of playing the bagpipes and I absolutely love it. I went to the Bellingham Higland games last year, but only watched. This year I am going to compete and play my pipes as much as possible.

I am a piper and I am interested in competing this summer in as many of the Highland Games as possible. Any information that you could give me would be much appreciated.

Attended the bellngham Highland Games in 1993 and lost my heart and soul to the heavenly sound of the pipers and drummers. My husband is starting to learn to play the pipes. My daughter, Samantha Hunt (ex Gaelic Storm Fiddler) would love to come with us this year: she just married a Scotts/Canadian drummer. Cannot wait to hear the massed bands again and weep in joy!

What a wonderful Wesite. I had yur email address from the application form from last year. Thought I would check it out to see when this years games were. What a wonderful idea to list all the other highland games in the Pacific Northwest. It was our first year last year as our son, Luke, was four and competed in the primary division. We'll certainly be back this year as we loved our day at the games.

Utilikilts has NOT been banned from the Bellingham Highland Games. They are only one of many vendors we were unable to accomodate this year. We hope everyone wears clothes most comfortable for a day long event like ours. Wear your traditional kilt, utilikilt, jeans, shorts, dresses, whatever. Just come on out and enjoy the day and support the games!

I agree whole-heartedly with Thayer. The people at Utilikilts are keeping the Scottish spirit alive with new ideas and innovations. They keep their design simple and straightforward; it does not clash w/ the traditional tartan. Please let the Utilikilts company vend their wares at your games.

I am deeply dissappointed that the vendor management of the Highland Games has decided to ban Utilikilts from being sold at the gathering this year.

I can attest to their imporantance both as tradition and modern use. I will be wearing my Utilikilt with pride as will many other Utilikilt owners.

This is a great site. I hope to go to the 2001 highland games and see it again. I went last year with the Salt Lake Scots and it was the best highland games I have been to.

I'm very pleased to see that you now have a website so everyone can get all the information they need prior to the actual day of the event. I have visited the Highland Games at Hovander for the past five years and actually worked that event one year as I was employeed by the Whatcom County Parks Department. It's always a great time with lots to do and it's organized so well. Being of Scottish decent, my brother and I are planning a trip to Scotland this August. i absolutely love the Bellingham highland games. I have attended every year since the first year I started dancing. There is such a warm, hospitable atmosphere at Hovander pard and the sound of pipes in the air sends shivers down my spine. There truly is something magical about the event...
