Piping/Drumming Entry Form

Hovander Homestead Park


I-5 exit 262 West. Drive to RR underpass, sharp left. Follow signs to Park. Overnight camping available for US $10.00, payable to Whatcom County Parks.


Spectator Admission

*there is a $1.00 discount on mail-order admission tickets.

All fees and prizes are in US funds.
Competitors must be current members of the BC Pipers' Assoc. or an affiliated organization OR pay a surcharge of $1.50 per solo event or $20 per band event.

Competition Rules and Eligibility


The piping, drumming and band competitions of the Bellingham Games will be conducted under the rules of the British Columbia Pipers Assoc. Competitors must be members of the BCPA or an officially affiliated piping assoc. Unaffiliated competitors are welcome but they must pay an additional charge as noted in the fee schedule. Members of affiliated organizations should submit a photocopy of their current membership card or similar proof with their entries.


Entry Schedule


1. If we receive your entry in Bellingham by MAY 13, you will receive written confirmation and a gate pass.

2. Late entries will be accepted as space permits but you will not receive a gate pass and you will not know if your entry has been accepted unless you call the information number (360) 671-6645.

3. Regardless of entry date:
Piobaireachd events will be limited to the FIRST 10 ENTRIES.
All other events will be strictly limited to the FIRST 20 ENTRIES

4. NO FIELD OR PHONE ENTRIES UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.


Gate Passes


1. Solo competitors receive one gate pass. Pipe bands will receive twenty gate passes under the same conditions noted in Point 1 of the Entry Schedule. It is the responsibility of the designated band representative to distribute gate passes prior to the day of the Games.

2. There will me NO REFUNDS of park admission fees for band or solo competitors who do not have a gate pass in hand when the enter Hovander Homestead Park.


Order of Play


First to enter will be last to perform. This applies to solo and band events. Competitors not ready to play in the posted order may be disqualified.


Highland Dress


Competitors must appear in recognizable and appropriate Highland dress


Pipe Bands


Additional items of note for pipe bands
1. No third place prize unless four bands compete in a class.

2. A fourth place prize will be awarded if six bands compete

3. Bands travelling 100 miles or more will receive $1200 travel money.

4. Massed bands will take place at the close of the band competition. Pipe bands must appear at Closing Massed Bands in order to receive prizes or travel money.
