Highland Life
The purpose of the Bellingham Highland Games Association is to promote and preserve traditional Scottish Highland culture. The major way we do this is through the annual Bellingham Scottish Highland Games that includes competition in piping, drumming, dancing, and athletics. Presenting Clan information, Fiddle & Harp performances, Scottish Country Dancing and more. All set into a Country Fair type atmosphere for the whole family.
The first Games were held in 1961 at Battersby Field in Bellingham. In the 1980's we moved to Hovander Homestead Park one of the most beautiful of the Whatcom County Parks. Attendance has grown in participants and spectators, and the quality of our cultural displays and the excellence of our competition has just gotten better to the point that we are a two day event.
With much to see and do you'll have great fun with on field camping
as well as delicious Scottish foods and vendor booths galore. These are just some of the wonderful sights, sounds and events that wait for you at the Bellingham Highland games held the first full weekend in June every year.
